Supporting a Girl Child Project

Launched in April 2019, the Supporting a Girl Child project is dedicated to improving the health, dignity, and educational opportunities of vulnerable young girls, particularly in rural areas. Recognizing that the lack of access to sanitary products is one of the leading causes of absenteeism among school-going girls, this initiative addresses a critical need that often goes overlooked.

Restoring Diginity and Confidence

In many rural schools, girls are forced to miss several days of class each month simply because they cannot afford basic sanitary ware. Some lack even the most essential undergarments, making it difficult to attend school with confidence and dignity. In response, Shekinah Glory Organisation developed a comprehensive sanitary support package that includes:

Sanitary Pads
bathing Soap

Pair of Underwears

These packages are distributed directly to schoolgirls, Skills Training Centre trainees, and other vulnerable girls from the community. By restoring dignity and reducing absenteeism, the project empowers young women to stay engaged in education and skills programs, pursue their goals, and build brighter futures without shame or interruption.

Through ongoing support from donors and community partners, we aim to expand the reach of this project and ensure that no girl’s education is compromised by a lack of basic menstrual hygiene supplies.
